How does a USB Cable Work?

A USB cable allows digital data to be transferred from a peripheral device to a host PC and for supplying power to devices that need it, for instance, charging a mobile phone. The cable consists of four wires that are used separately for transferring power and data. The Type C plug is inserted into your mobile device and the Type A plug is inserted into the female USB receptacle on the host PC (or charger).
