This ESD grounding cord can be attached to electronic assembly elements to protect workers, as well as the products they handle, from electrostatic discharge (ESD). It’s part of our tried and tested RS PRO range.
When working with sensitive equipment, grounding is essential to prevent damage to electronic components. Grounding cords send static from the EPA (the ESD-protected area) to the ground, preventing harmful voltages by fixing everything to the same electrical ground point.
This grounding cord is very simple to use. It has press studs on either end that you can attach easily to work mats and ground outlets. Once connected, the cord directs static electricity to the ground to keep workers and their equipment safe.
Our grounding cord complies with control standards ESD S20.20 and EN 61340-5-1 on the protection of electronic devices and can be adapted to EPAs of various shapes and sizes.
