This unit is supplied as a flat glass plate with rigid pins in a DIL (dual in line) format, meaning it consists of two parallel rows of electrical connecting pins in a rectangular housing. For ease of reading, the black segments appear against a silver background. The wide viewing angle also makes the display highly visible.
