Alpha Wire offer a range of cable glands, also known as cable fittings, ideal for all of your strain relief needs. Cable glands fortify systems and protect your infrastructure against wear and tear. Providing strain relief for standard and flex focused applications. The cable glands are available in NPT, metric and PG threading options with a temperature rating up to 150° C.
The range of plastic cable glands from Alpha Wire include, threaded glands and flexible glands, both supplied with a gasket and locknut. Alpha Wire also provide hole plugs for sealing housing when no cable gland is used. The metal cable glands are made from brass with a rubber seal and NBR O-ring.
Cable glands are watertight, dust resistant, dirt resistant and sand resistant (According to IP68). Cable glands can be used in telecommunications, control, instrumentation, data cables, and electrical power.
The IP rating is a standard created by the IEC (International Electro-technical Commission). It determines whether a product is resistant to dirt, dust or fresh water. The first digit (6) indicates that the cable glands are resistant to harmful dust, and the second digit (8) indicates that the cable gland can be submerged beyond 1 metre under fresh water.
UL94 is a flammability safety standard for plastic parts such as cable glands, designed to determine whether a flame will extinguish itself or spread once the material has been ignited. The V2 indicates that a flame will stop burning within 30 seconds on a vertical item such as a cable.
