RS PRO Steel Tubes
Introducing a series of RS PRO general purpose steel tubes that comply fully with BS1387. These medium gauge round steel tubes are suitable for a wide range of applications at low and moderate pressure. Each tube is ready to be cut to create a frame, painted or powder coated.
Where would you use them?
Steel tubes are typically used in manufacturing and material applications. They are high strength, load bearing and easily customised for desired requirements.
Guidance
Hot bending is generally recommended in preference to cold bending
Galvanising of cold worked tubes is not advisable unless the tubes have been suitably heat treated after cold working
Cold expanding of tube ends is not recommended.
Hot expanding of tube ends should be carried out at a temperature in the range 950 °C to 1050 °C.
Hot expanding should not be carried out on galvanized tubes.
Machining operations may be carried out using normal techniques
Standards
