OSRAM OSLUX Series IR LEDs
OSRAM Opto Semiconductors' SFH 4780S forms part of the IR OSLUX family. The SFH 4780S has been designed for use in Biometric applications, for example iris recognition in mobile devices. Their compact package also makes them suitable for these applications as space is limited. The SFH 4780S IR LEDs black package enables the user to integrate it discretely into mobile devices.
With a very narrow emission angle at a low height, the IR OSLUX devices provide optimum performance. This is made possible by the lens matching to the internal reflector. The IR OSLUX LEDs are flat top devices, despite the use of a lens. Their compact package also enables the SFH 4780S to offer a very high performance-to-size ratio for energy saving designs.
