This remarkable ON Semiconductor 5-volt linear voltage regulator comes under the MC78L00A family. These products are monolithic integrated circuits designed as fixed-voltage regulators for a wide range of applications including local, on-card regulation. The positive voltage regulator requires no external components and incorporates internal thermal overload protection and current limiting plus safe area compensation.
