Eaton Motor Protection Circuit Breaker - PKE Series

Eaton's PKE series of motor protection circuit breakers offer a wide adjustment range in a simplified product selection, making choosing the correct product easier, reducing inventory and transport related costs. The PKE motor protection circuit breakers complement the PKZ device family.

This motor protection range of circuit breakers have precise and extremely long time stable tripping characteristic curves with tripping classes of greater than class 10. The PKE range are short-circuit proof rated to 100 kA (400V) up to 32 A and 50 kA (400V) to 65 A, this means that short-circuit calculations and prefusing are no longer necessary. With electronic wide range overload protection these circuit breakers offer an alternative to the bimetal solution for motor current of up to 65 A and provide protection from electrical faults such as an overload of high voltages, short circuits or relay shutdowns.

The PKE series has an efficient modular design that allows use of standard components and minimises design engineering requirements. Accessories are available from the PKZM0 system and are ideally suited to a safe and logical control panel assembly. Accessories including auxiliary contacts, trip indicating auxiliary contacts, voltage release and shunt trips can be installed without tools and greatly reduce installation time.

The PKE system can easily be incorporated into the SmartWire-DT system either individually or as a motor starter combination. Using this system the measurement and status data of the PKE can be sent directly to the control for processing or to a HMI for visualisation of the output circuit data.
